It is way cheaper then a car payment.
Almost everyone I know keeps telling me to buy another car. I mean, why? I mean it's way cheaper to fix it then buy something else.
I just bought a house earlier this year, and paying for that alone doesn't leave much room for another car. If I did buy another I'd buy the same kind of car as what I'm driving now. Another Contour.
(It was nice to be able to fix the car before it broke down on the side of the road. I have been towed 5 times this year so far, and hope I don't need to be towed again).
