The Credence woofer must be sold out. For 39.00 it was a steal. I built 2 home subs with it and they shocked me with how good they sounded.

Yep, I made two enclosures and they had more bass output than the shiva (expected) but were close to as detailed in a ported enclosure vs a Shiva in a critically damped enclosure. I think I may need to make a ported box for the Shiva. Maybe an EBS enclosure.

Yeah, Dave. You need to get that Shiva in a 5-6 cu ft box, port tuned to 17hz for home.

SAF is very important now that i'm married. I may have to get creative. I think I'm going to make it match my entertainment center which is dark colored cherry piece.

You should have built it before you were married. Or, just surprise her. My wife asked me why in the hell they were so big. I said they had to be to get them to play very low frequencies. That, and the room is 18ft wide so putting them in the corners doesn't interfere with too much.

Besides, they make perfect bookshelf speaker stands.

Dave, my think my outside e-mail has been sucking of late. Tomorrow night, my wife is going shopping with a friend after work. If you want to stop my my house on your way home to have a listen and check out GT3, i can throw some hot dogs on the grill.

BTW,

Jazzman, check out the Swan 305 from www.madisound.com. It is a 12" sub that works pretty well in a 1 cubic foot sealed enclosure. You may be able to go even smaller with some stuffing or a variovent. Maybe as low as a .75 cubic foot. It'll fall off at about 50 hz but with cabin gain will give you usable response down to the low 20 hz region. It's one of the better values available on a budget. I'll try to post a link. BTW, it is somewhere around 65.00

Hey all,

Thanks for the suggestions re: the subs.

The problem I have with many of the suggestions you've listed is that I live in Canada, and as such the prices are higher, plus shipping and duty kill any benefits of getting the no-name brands.

Any ideas on the pioneer subs I listed in my original message?

Thanks all,

Brian
