Jazzman, check out the Swan 305 from www.madisound.com. It is a 12" sub that works pretty well in a 1 cubic foot sealed enclosure. You may be able to go even smaller with some stuffing or a variovent. Maybe as low as a .75 cubic foot. It'll fall off at about 50 hz but with cabin gain will give you usable response down to the low 20 hz region. It's one of the better values available on a budget. I'll try to post a link.
