hello all,

I am new to this forum, but very experienced with it, as i've been looking for a long time, just never posted. My question is, examining various air intake setups (via dyno pulls posted on the net), it seems they don't do very much in the way of horsepower. Additionally, knowing what little I know of aerodynamics, depending on the velocity generated (bernoulli's principle) relating to the change in diameter of the piping size, your vehicle may actually lose torque and horsepower.

What I am looking for is a dyno proven intake setup that is known to be better than the stock SVT one. I've done my searches on the forum, and it seems the favored setup is the duratec adapter plate and smooth pipe (like the one on CTA motorsports). Do any of you have experience with this setup? Is it better than leaving the accordian pipe on and just putting a K&N filter on? What do the engineering background people think?

I figured if we could reach a general agreement we could make this post a sticky or FAQ like we do on the mustang forum, and save ourselves the trouble of someone asking again.

thank you guys for taking the time,

Hey guys, since the general theme seems to be the maf adaptor and k&N filter, where do i find a good maf adapter? CTA and SP have one, but it's only 85mm. Also, does anyone reccomend the smooth intake pipe vice the accordian tube?

A few weeeks back i had to make an alignment on my aem intake. Then last sat night i'm pushing the car on the highway and i get a service engine soon light. When i lift the hood i see that one of the rubber boots for the intake pipe slipped off a little, leaving about a 1/2 inch opening to the engine intake. Once corrected the light went off of course, but im curious if i may have done any damage having that intake opening for a few weeks possibly......
