Hence the thread title. RAP lovers...

Again, I'll say it.

Oh yeah, I just got done listening to Straight Outta Compton while doing some dishes.

I love 3rd Bass, Mix-a-lot, NWA, Ice-T, Too Short, Public Enemy, Run DMC, Q-Tip, Del and on and on. This new fangled rap stuff ain't so hot though, but there is some stuff worth listening to I guess.

I'm into music that makes me rewind a verse, and ask myself, "did he really say that". I want to listen to something that makes me think. I get tired of hearing about "ice, cars, clothes, liquor, [censored] and hoes". I don't rap yet I can make a song about all of that. I want to get a message from the music. Much like Pac,Nas, Black Eyed Peas, and some of the others listed. I just wish all of Pacs music would have been produced by a down south producer. I enjoy southern producers a lot more than any of the others. Much of the down south "artists" have no lyrical content. 3-6 mafia for example.. GREAT beats, 0 rap content. It's all the same in my opinion.. Oh, well.. Just my .02.

Well put. For a new spin on the old "rewind and listen again" concept, check the new Hieroglyphics group disc, Full Circle. The cut called "Seven Sixes" is absolutely boggling when Del spits his nine lines. Just amazing.

BTW, Is that Kid Sensation I see in the tape case???
I thought that I was the only one to dig KS.

Damn I miss the early 90s hip hop.
