Yeah it's reliable enough but when you start modding you gotta spend $$$ to keep it reliable, with the LS1 that's less of a factor, quite possibly making your total price stay lower especially if you keep the car for a while and have to keep it maintained. The LS1 being close to stock with a lotta power probably is easier to keep running than the rotary being made to make LS1 power.
