the majority of those cars have an AT (not atx). sure its a super built up one, but thats what they use!
now would i rather have an ATX over a MTX? not a chance. id trade my atx in a second for a mtx, they are so much more fun! just thought id point out the big time drag racers alot of times will chose an AT over a MT
ODD I wonder why that John Force pro funny car driver uses a MTX... ooh wait a minute ALL of them are MTX cars along with the top fuel cars, same with pro stock they are a MTXthen lets look at WRC they use a MTX also Lemans they also use a MTX
only people I see at the track with ATX trannys are people who either can't drive a MTX or couldn't find a MTX.... hell some of them can't drive an ATX ver well... I've seen guys in WS6 T/As running 15's and 16's before which is just wrong.... it's a mid 13 second car, even with the ATX.
Actually, automatics are very popular in drag racing because they are very consistant. Yes in some types of racing a manual is better, but the same can be said for an auto.
