First of all, the only Trans Am that ever had a V-6 was the 25th Anniversary model made in 1989, it had a hi-po turbo V-6. So right off the bat the guy you raced lied. The 1996 Trans AM came with an LT1 V-8 (de-tuned corvette motor) putting out 285hp and 325 tq. Nonetheless, 13 flat in the 1/4 for this car without a cat is very hard to believe. Was it a manual or an automatic? Either way he must have had some mods done to it to run a 13.

I would believe the 1989 vs. 1996 because it was old looking. It was auto from what I could see looking in. The first gear was killer. It just killed the guy in the GTP.
I raced him during midnight madness(run what you brung)at the Maryland International Raceway. He did about three runs and then left. Oh, I forgot to mention he didn't want anybody looking under the hood either. Definitely had something to hide. True car enthusiast to me don't do things like that.
