Yep - aerodynamics are awesome.
I remember once lining up at the drag strip when the Cougar was a lot closer to stock. The car in the next lane was a crappy old Nova with a badly tuned v8 and glasspacks. I remember thinking "Well this guy's gonna hand my *ss to me."
The light changed and off we went. He pulled on me pretty steadily and was half a car length ahead till the 1/8, at which point I started reeling him in. At the finish, my front wheels were even with his doors. And I only hit like 86mph for the trap speed. Lol.
And since we're on the subject - don't forget that lowering springs also decrease drag significantly. I can tell a marked difference in responsiveness at highway speeds from having installed the H&R's last weekend. (They rock, btw.)
I've been thinking about putting on a rubber chin flap for an extra schosh of slipperiness.
