Actually it's not talking about the bump stops in the how-to (atleast not that line of the how-to), it's talking about those upper parts that you say you swapped over....
If the BAT springs have room to add the stock little sleeve thing on to, then put them on,, it won't hurt anything and should help something like Demon said.
