It's taking about the "white-ish" polyurethane piece that goes over the actual strut rod.

Leave the pieces of hose on the BAT springs. It will stop them from rubbing together and starting to rust there (like the stock ones do!)

Matter of fact I transfered over the upper ones from the original springs as well.
