Scott: if you are talking about a USB video capture device I would check it out and make sure it can capture at the frame rate and resolution that you need it to for high quailty video because most of the USB ones I have seen will not do more than 15 FPS at higher resolutions and the resolutions that they will do 30 at look like a postage stamp.
For computers I reccomend either a internal card or something firewire based (I dont know if they have anything USB2 yet or not)
