Sorry to hear about the outcome...Guess you have to decide if its worth it for that kind of money, it sounds like you really don't have any mechanics that can help w/ favors. A junk yard would probably only give $100 or less for the car. Ebay is always an option, listing everything wrong w/ the car you'd do better than $100 I'm sure.
