I got the official word today, the trans has given out. The 98 Ford Contour fought a valiant fight, but never seemed to recover from the bad headgasket repair over the summer. It is time to finally lay it to rest. Unless someone can come up with some last minute (cheap) resusitating advice, it is on to that final Ford repair shop in the sky......
