Well you'll need 2.5 ex. manifolds and you'll have to piece the 2 EGR tubes together.

Weld the bottom half Contour tube with the top half of the Escape tube?

Pheww this was a long thread.

So we can summarize the Mazda MPV 3L duratec is probably the best option for a full swap and that we should be using the returnless 2.5 LIM with SVT dual honed 2.5 upper but to mate them we need some ingenuity.

Can we elaborate (pictures?) on the 'ingenuity' required to make the returnless LIM mate to the 3L oval port heads and also get some fuel spraying on the secondary valve?

Also which models do not have the alternator boss that has to be cut on other models? (MPV does NOT correct?)

Maybe we could put together a 3L swap guideline for starting with a taurus, escape, MPV, etc?

I offer PnP Heads for all durtec's details at PnPheads.com or jesse@pnpheads.com for details.

No Taurus 3L is the best due to the UIM manifold having a lower profile. The IAC already needs relocating to the back of the UIM due to it rubbing the hood. I'll have pics tonight of the mods that were performed.

I'm talking still using the 2.5L SVT intake system. I would still be interested in the picts though, thanks.

Read forgot aboooot that. I think all the 3L's are the same internally so it doesn't matter if you're going to use 2.5 UIM (with a ton of work).
