Finally completed my stereo install last month. Just thought some of you would be interested in seeing it.

Take care!

eek

I'm very impressed by your setup. Looks like you put a lot of work into it. DO your knees get in the way of the horns down there?

As for the trunk, Holy Schlamoley! Glad you can get to your spare tire, and you even have room for a couple of cases of beer!

Well done.

Jazzman- The I.D. mini-horns aren't a problem whatsoever. The full size horns definitely wouldn't fit without some serious modification to the dash. This is the reason behind the mini-horns. I still need to construct the grills for the horns. However, I'm in the process of moving and all of my stuff is packed away.

Take care.

Nice! I was browsing around the sound domain pictures a week or two ago and noticed that car.. Wondered if the owner was on the forums or not.

How does your horns sound and the imaging... I got my horns molded int omy dash, losing my glove, to get better imaging from what I was told.

Hey Ryan,

Very nice system visually.
I hope it sounds as good as it looks.

Ever heard of IASCA?
I have competed in IASCA for years.
The contour has several trophies.
Have trophies from World Finals.
I have judged all levels of IASCA competition.
Here is my first install.
Mike's Stereo

I could give you some pointers for competition.

Very clean install, tune it right, and you can have several years of excellent autosound.

Very sweet setup. Ive been wondering if horns would fit under the dash and not stick down too much.

Looks good and different than anything I've seen before. Did you do the install yourself?

The install was completed by myself and two of my friends. All of the Aluminum machining was done at work with a coworker of mine. Most of the stereo system was taken out of my previous car. However, in my last car I had only 2 JL Audio 12W6's and half of the wattage I'm running now. In addition, I added 4 Stiffening Caps and instead of using the full sized horns, I'm using the mini-horns. The imaging of the horns is awesome. You really can't go wrong with horns provided you have the patients to mount them and the equalization to tune them. I didn't want to lose my glove box (needed room for the 6 disc changer) so I mounted them directly under the dash.

I subscribe to all of the stereo magazines so I'm fully aware of the competition circuits out there. I've been involved with both Home and Car Audio for over 12 years, but have never competed. Reason behind that, the Bay Area is not on the map with regards to competition events. We have our share of car shows, but that's it.

Since I'm going to be living in the Los Angeles area now, I'm hoping to be involved with stereo competition.

Thanks for the comments about the install. I appreciate it.

Take care,

Ryan
