1999 V6 SE Sport
A couple weeks ago I had a CEL P1518. I took off the IMRC, looked at it shook it to see if it rattled. It didn't. I put it back on and the CEL went away. Good I thought. I will fix it later. Now, the CEL light is back on. I suspect the same thing.
This doesn't disturb me as much as a new noise I have found. It only seems to happen under load. A rev at idle and I can't here it. If I try accelerate up a hill or something, I hear it. Its not a loud sound, but it sounds like a metal-metal tapping noise. I have about 76,000 on my contour.
My first guess is maybe a bad bearing, but why only under load?
Could it be something with the IMRC error?
