I changed the plugs with some Autolite APP764's when I had the UIM off... The original plugs really weren't all that bad, gap was a little wide tho... The car might see some road milage tomorrow if the weather is decent.... Time to check up on the cottage BTW, if anyone wants to see the pics of the UIM/LIM before the cleaning LMK....

You would need to find a way to seal the hole from the excess air so that the engine does not stall. My neighbor does it somewhat that way, with the wand from the throttle body cleaner aerosol stuck into the vacuum line and sealed off. He squirts a little at a time. I really don't think he ends up with the intake getting cleaned up as well as the way I do it. With some experimentation this could be a viable alternative, but I know my system works.

Seems like the secondaries were pretty caked up...now it makes me believe that the only true way to clean them is to remove the UIM and clean with a brush...i personally am more concerned about the secondary butterflies than the ports themselves

My LIM was actually much WORSE than that when I did my cleaning. When I was done, my SE ran like a new car. It was BEAUTIFUL!
Must be that jumbly-wumbly thing happening again.

Pretty nasty stuff huh??
I forgot to say this... but in the middle of summer we had the EGR CEL code and took it to the dealer (before I found this site) anyways, the dealer cleaned the EGR passage but with what and whether they took off the intake I have no idea... BTW, we got screwed by the dealer
First they said it was an oxygen sensor... They changed that and charged us like $225... Then on the way home, the CEL came back on... called them up and at this point I was pretty pissed... took the car back and they cleaned the EGR passage... NEVER trust a dealer
