depends on the model. in 1990, either a 2.2L I4 or a 3.1L V6. or the 2.3L quad4. the fastest ones were the GTZ's but the ones i have seen all have the 4 withe an ATX...and they are sloooooo.

Yeah man those Quad 4's are beasts man but didnt have as much torque as the 2.8/3.1(160ft-lbs). But those motors are good for 140K and theyre done. I think after 92, it was detuned to 160hp and then when it was replaced by the 2.4L which is the same engine they lowered it to 155hp. I had a 92 base model with the 3.1 V-6 and I t was a pretty quick car man. I put a drop in K&N in the and it made a difference. I wish I never got rid of that car and traded it for a 90 SHO+$200 which was a bad move. I had more problems with that SHO than that Beretta. I was very desperate for having a SHO and that what happened.

Edmunds.com lists a Indy Car version of a '90 Beretta with the V6 that they claim puts out 225hp. I have never seen or heard of one of these before tho. That one would probably take a CSVT. Shot or no shot.

That version was actually used as the pace car...and had 200+ hp but the prodcution model only had the standard 3.1 litre engine which i think was 140hp/180lbs/ft....the 3.1 was good off the line but lacks mid and upper rpm power...its still on pushrod technology

LOL... i didn't think i was talking [censored], but that's ok. My SVT is plenty fast enough for me. And I don't think you'd be calling my Vette a slow ass car, would you?
