I work as a duct cleaner and at this one job today I watched a 23 yr old kid smack around his mom. I watched him pop her twice, call her everything in the book, and then walk away like nothing happened. He knew I was there and I had seen it, it didnt make a difference to him. The whole thing was because she accidentally unplugged his computer when she was moving things away from the wall so I could clean the duct work. After the job was done she just tried to downplay what the kid had done and said its cause they are short on money and its not a big deal what he did. I feel bad cause I didnt do anything, I just watched. I dont know what to do, other people I talked to say I should just leave it alone, that if I act on it it will only make a lot of trouble for me and the company.

That's the type of kid that needs to get his ass kicked. I could never lower myself to hitting a woman, especially my mom. I once tried to step in a few years back when this guy was fighting with his girlfriend and slapped her. He then took a swing at me, and I decked him back, and knocked him to the ground. Some people just need to get their asses kicked.

Yea, that's not cool at all. I don't blame you for not stepping in, because of your job and all. It would have been the right thing to do, but no good would have come from it. On the other hand, if she was getting hurt, that's the time to step in and get the police involved. There's no excuse for him to do anything like that, especially to the last person in the world that would deserve it--your own mother.

You should have called the police. Period. How can you live with yourself if you don't?

If that kid doesnâ??t kill her he will kill someone else eventually. Can you live with that when you could have intervened?

Why make trouble? Its only a ladys life we are talking about.

You could always call the police. They would probably take him to jail if his mom had any marks or injuries. Even if his mom said "no don't take him to jail" they would take him anyway.

Yeah, when I was 10, the kid that lived behind me stabbed his mom three dozen times. It was a crazy experience. The kid was like 16 or 17 at the time and he got out of jail at 21. Go justice system!

Talk to your boss and tell him about it. See what he/she says. I think you really should do something. I mean he had no expectation of privacy, it's as if he did it on the street. You weren't snooping around. The mother made excuses for her son because that is what victims of domestic abuse do. Do something about it.

If I ever even thought about hitting my mom my dad would have turned me into a punching bag. Still would even after the divorce.

i think that any man that hits a woman needs to be knocked around by somebody twice his size...there is always somebody bigger. i would never ever hit my mom, or my girlfriend either. and thats just out of pure respect and the way i was raised. if a woman wants to fight me, then im prepared to get the [censored] beat outta me, becuase i will NOT hit a woman...ever.

call the police, file a report, i doubt they can do anything now, but its better than not doing anything.

Hmmm, if one of her justifications was that they 'were short on money', then what were they doing having their ductwork cleaned? Not something that is a necessity.
