ok this is hard to explain I have a 1998 CSVT I was driving home from work last night stopped at a red light went to put it back in first gear and it was like i was in third when i tried to take off and when i got it going it was in gear but u can take the shifter and move it all around but the car is still in gear went to try reverse and the car went foward anyone have any ideas what could be wrong here by the way i have a brand new clutch that was put in about 2 months ago

Sounds to me like you broke your shifter linkage. I did that once, some time ago. Does the shifter feel like it is still connected? When mine broke, the shifter felt disconnected and I was stuck in first gear. Good luck.

i didnt break my shifter linkage i found out the problem this morning i broke my transmission mount and when it broke the linkage came lose from the tranny that is the best way i can explain it
