As my E0 SVT ages, I've noticed that after opening the trunk, it really doesn't really want to stay in the open position. Any slight jostling of the car and the trunk comes down -- wham! -- usually on my neck as I'm rumaging around trying to take something out. I've rented Tauruses (Tauri?) in the past that have had wonderfully powerful springs that snap the trunk open when the remote is pressed. The Contour has always been lame in this regard, and it seems to be getting worse with age. It's not a huge problem, but obviously a pain (in the neck). Any options?

Note this is different than the trunk spring popper issue, which is the only related item I could find in the archives. Perhaps my SVT is the only one with weak springs?
