There are optional seats with side air bags, basically upgraded Neon seats with much less bolstering and a larger lower seat.

As I have mentioned before, all the vehicles that I looked at had short comings, and without getting into specifics, so does the SRT-4. I am repeating myself but this is not going to be a daily driver but will be a project vehicle. There are many items that I can overlook as I won't be sitting in this car day in and day out, and many of the short comings, will be replaced or modified to my liking.
In the next few months (years??), my SRT-4 won't be any where near stock.
