Really? That is the most retarded statement ever? You don't read much...do you?  A stock Cobra or a Mustang GT has no chance against any stock LS1. So...in order to beat them...Ford put a supercharger on the Cobra. Nothing wrong with that! A fast car is a fast car.......no matter what. I respect 03 Cobra's....and I know in a race I'd lose.....hence my need for more parts!!

Ummm... like the 2003 cobra is stock w/ a supercharger.. which makes your stock they have no chance statement foolish.. unless you just forgot to specify year.
Anyway.. this argument is just foolish.. see my above post.

I've seen more Z06s than 03 cobras. I think one reason is because the Z06s can be bought locally new but the cobras have to be used to be bought locally. I know a guy that traded his viper for a modiffied zo6 but I don't know anybody with a 03 cobra or that knows anybody with one. Now, as far as other years/types of stangs, I see plenty of them daily.

I think everybody is forgetting a very important point here. The LS1 engine(from what I hear) isn't good for more than 550-600 hp without changing the internals. The new cobra's 4.6(which isn't just a GT's with a blower), is being tested to 1000 hp with no internal modifications(gotta love Manley). Another huge point is this:
The '01 cobra could hold it's own in a straight line, and could out-corner the crap out of a Camaro/Trans-Am/Firebird. Ford went after the Z06 when they designed the '03 cobra.
Any naturally aspirated engine with the same horsepower as a blown one, will always win. But all bolt-ons done to the blown engine will have a much bigger power gain, for the exact same price.
If you had a 355spyder, and I had a civic with mods that equalled the value of your car, I would lay the smackdown on you. But in the end I still only have a civic. Think about it.

I have owned both a 2001 Cobra and now a 2003 Cobra. I can vouch for the abilities both cars have. As for those of you who think the 03 is simply a GT with a blower... you have either been out to lunch for a LONG time, or you simply like talking about what you don't know. Forged crank, forged pistons. Manley H-Beam rods. DOHC. About the only thing this motor shares with the SOHC GT motor is the cast iron block. The only reason for this is that the aluminum block wouldn't hold up to 10+ psi safely. I for one am glad they went back to cast iron.
For reference... I have only lost to one Z06 Vette. My buddy now... funny thing is, he happened to own a performance shop that did all the HEAVY tuning to his beast. Mind you I have an intake and mufflers... STOCK PIPES! 418RWHP 387.5RWTQ 8psi stock pulley. Waiting on my 2.76" upper pulley, predator, 100mm idlers, and 315/35/17 Nitto 555DR. Should be upwards of 15-16psi. All those mods for 1100.
