Well, it should outperform the kicker XPL since it will outperform the solobaric. Let me check on the MTX8000 and get back with you. I suspect it will equal if not better the performance.

Did some checking on the MTX8000. It looks like the Shiva models slightly better (goes a bit deeper), is a couple of decibels more sensitive, and can handle 200 more watts. Should add up to about 4-5 dB more output when pushed to it's max.

That's a pretty strong statement. I bet it's not even true. I'll have to check out the link, though. I'm not expecting much from a self proclaimed "Elite" site.

Although, the a/d/s/ subs rank near the top in SQ, I wouldn't put them at the very top. There are a number of subs that perform equally as well if not better at a lower cost.

After checking into the a/d/s/ subs a little farther, it has two major strikes against it. For ultimate SQ, an underhung VC is essential, the a/d/s/ uses an overhung. For SPL, a large xmax is necessary, which the a/d/s/ doesn't have. One very nice design feature is the high sensitivity for a 10. It will only take 1/3 the wattage to reach the same volume levels as a JL10W6.

I don't care for sony Xplod, every time I go into a store the Xplod displays are always blown, hence the name Xplod (explode)
