I'll tell you what you need! Get some Shivas. The are very good subs and about $115 each. HA! I beat you to it Dave! That's what you get for threatening me! MWA-HA-HAAAAA!

Well, would 150.00 be too much to spend on each sub? If not, then I would get the SB10 at www.stryke.com As for an amp, your are right, there are so many out there. Check out www.ubid.com for some good deals.

I decided to be unpredictable today.
If you would consider 12s, do what the monkey said and get shivas. Actually one of them will outperform 2 of most tens on the market.
Another option. Goto partsexpress.com and get 2 of the Titanic 1000s listed on the scratch and dent page. They are a steal at 90.00 each.

Have you considered Image Dynamics IDQ subs. They are competition level but have excellent sq/spl. They play LOW too, below what you can hear low. These subs are designed for small enclosures and are cheap. You could find some on ebay, new for like 175

Most subs will play lower than you can hear in a car. If I had to pick between a Shiva and a ID woofer going into a competition. I would pick the Shiva anytime, for both SQ and SPL. As for the Lambda SB10 or PL series 10...they are as of right now, probably the best sounding 10" subwoofer made at any price.

120.00 is a pretty good price. Let me see if I can find some objective data to compare them. Off the top of my head, the shiva is a couple of dB more effecient, has a lower Fs, and can handle close to 2 times the power. So real world, you could expect potentially 5-6 dB more output of the Shiva. I'll look up the specs in a minute. If I had a choice, I would take the Shiva at even a slightly higher price than the JL.
BRB with more data.
