yes they are a direct bolt on. MSDS will be a much better flow but their y-pipe needs to be modified b/c they did a terrible job. There is a 17% difference in airflow from bank to bank on their y-pipe. just something to think about.

Lets clarify here, so people don't get the wrong idea, these are NOT MPV headers, these are STOCK MPV exhaust manifolds

Nice setup, roughly speaking what was your budget? Just curious.

I've kind of been trying to ignore it, but let's see

Quaife $400 -from a Focus racing buddy, 10 laps at Mid-Ohio
Used 2002 Sable longblock $550 - another good deal, Carparts.com
Ford parts (wheel bearings, clutch, gaskets, etc) $600
BAT struts $400 est
Eibach Springs $225
Headwork $500
Port and Polish - 2 days grinding myself
Quaife install - $125, best money I ever spent, Liberty Gear
Fidenza $290 - lucked into a EBay Group buy
MSDS $625 (uncoated)
Coating UIM, MSDS $240 - I need to troubleshoot leak
Y-pipe mods - $100

$4055 - ouch. I told you I was trying to ignore it. And that doesn't include my new BAT brake kit and misc fluids. Having said all that, the cars still rips for my under $10K total cost (got it used), and I'm good for a bunch of miles I hope.

OK - I have 2k mostly trouble free miles (other than two loose wheel bearings from not torquing halfshaft properly) on it and should probably tackle the restrictive exhaust soon. Problem is I don't want to go much louder than stock SVT.

Does anyone have an idea what the real bottleneck in the system is? I.e, will removing the cat and running 2.5" back to a Magnaflow resonator, then stock back to outlets (2.25" and both stock mufflers) be a good option?
