I have a simple question, and i dont know if anyone has said this, but how much horsepower and torque are u gonna be pulling out of this, project? Because im in the process of doing the same, but havent started yet. But i read an article of some guy with a 319hp and 270 ft-lbs. on a cougar, and bored out the 3 liter to .200, which its making it a 3.2 liter. So intresting of doing the 3.2l and having ethier a supercharger or turbo kit.... I think that would be bad ass!!!!! heres the link to the guys article on import racer http://estore.teamprototype.com/ibrowze2.php?path=public/importracer_12_03_cougar
98 svt contour, magnaflows, sho shop intake, sho shop high flow cat, no pre cats, custom cougars short shifter, 3 liter hybird engine woo hoo im happy, and just added a dmd underdrive pulley.

yes, thats jjennings cougar. He bought David Z's engine and put it in his car. David has since bought a 3.0L escape engine and is putting that into his svt.
i think 380 whp and 380 wtq is acheivable with my setup.

Jim- You say you see 380 whp. Well, that sounds absolutely sick. My thoughts are do you plan to make this a dyno queen and magazine galore? Or are you looking to make this the toy for the weekends to go out and see what's happening down at your local cruising street or dragstrip? I don't see it being all of the above. The motor may be durable and just absolutely ruthless, but all that abuse will ammount to something. I see it being a dyno queen and in many magz. Just wanting to see what you were thinking when doing this. I give you major props.

Sam, I certainly dont intend to abuse this motor or run massive amounts of boost daily. I see my car mainly being a fun car to just cruise around in and possibly a show car with a good amount of hp.

You guys gotta tip the cap to Jim and Scott on this one because think about it, this is making a REAL commitment to the Contour that very few have done here and this car is theres for the long haul now, no selling it and "trying" to get back the $$$$ thats into it!
I love it, when I think I've spent too much on my project.......
There are only a handful of contiques that make me second guess my own path with my SVT, and yours is one of them! Uber sweet!
