So you were a slacker from the age of 12 to 25. Virtually everyone is. While it could be attributed somewhat to pot, I doubt that was the majority of the reason you were unmotivated. Being a slacker is just part of being a teen; and most grow out of it -- right around the age of 25.

If Pot somehow makes people less motivated then explain how countries where it is more tolerated (ie Most of Europe) or even where it is legal/semi-legal are some of the most successful economies in the world?

I know you are possibly a 'defender' of the substance, and I don't really care if the world smokes it or not. I just know what I know from experience.

Lets see here what do I got to go on? My experience of course? But also I got what I've seen from my whole family as well. I got 2 brothers who never puffed weed, and one is 23, and the other 24, and one makes 83k a year while the other makes 65k per year. And they both talk about how they love their jobs, and their lives in general. Then I got 2 sisters who are still into MJ and they don't have jobs nor money to even keep their cars running. I have an older brother who like me, quit puffing at around the age of 28, and he is 33 now and he's making around 80k per year and has since married a very nice (non-stoner) lady who has her head on straight and they have a nice family of acheivers (1 girl and 2 boys). I never used to have enough money to do anything until I quit either, and since I did quit, I now have been doing things that I only dreamed of doing when I was always high. Since I've quit, I've been to Mexico twice, traveled all around the western part of our country, and seen a lot of things out there. If I still got high, I'd never would have left the town I grew up in to see anything out there. I got stoner friends I grew up with who have never even leave the county (maybe a couple times only to go to Seattle a couple times to see a rock concert). For them, it is a journey just to go to the local AM/PM store to get their munchees and pack of smokes. Those poor kids are 30 now like me, and they still act like 16. Most of my old stoner friends I knew back then are 30 and still live with their parents! Does this sound like normal slackage? I don't know where you come from, but around here many of their parents are stoners too, and they don't have the heart to drive their kids to become independent, so the kids (my old friends) still need their parents to live. Those friends have lost all faith in themselves over the years. This happened gradually. I remember years ago when they all had hope and direction, and now they've gradually slipped and lost all desire to prosper in life. If you are a young guy, then I completely understand why you don't think pot can be bad, as when you are younger the long term effect haven't really set in yet, but over the years you may see the effect slowly change. Also since your short-term memory gets blasted on a daily basis, then how can you hold on to life's little daily lessons, and so that's when you lose your ability to learn from your mistakes, as I still see my stoner friends making all the same mistakes over and over and over again. And that's also why they still act 16, because their short-term memory since they puff weed daily has turned into long-term memory loss, and they act just like they did in high school when they started puffing in the first place. How's that for an earful? Did I speak any sense?
