I'm speaking from someone who has almost destroyed their life from drugs, and I know all of you can smoke an eighth a day a still function perfectly...
I've had two friends die from substance abuse and countless people I know have completely fried their brains from drug use, and almost all of them have one thing in common - they started with pot. If pot was the only drug in the world, then it wouldn't be so bad. The difference between marijuana and alcohol, is that you can assume alcohol in moderation. You can't smoke a bowl and not feel anything, but you can have a glass of wine and be completely fine. We don't need anymore drugs easily accesible for people to use.
There are plenty of stoners that don't use any other drugs, but the majority of potheads use other drugs and/or have experimented with other drugs. More people will smoke if it is legal. It should stay illegal to protect those people from it.
I'm guessing most of you have done it a few times, but when you've smoked several bowls a day for months, like I used to do, you know a hell of lot more about the effects it has on you and other people.
If it was legal, the price of it would drop significantly, because it would be produced in much higher quantities. People would be able to buy a lot more, and then smoke it a lot more.
I'm sure we could generate plenty of money from taxing it, but most of that money would have to go towards regulating it. Marijuana taxes aren't going to improve education and healthcare. It's only going to make people stupid and more unhealthy than they already are.
