Well, Looks like it is finally here. I am curious to see what it will do but doubt I will ever seriously consider the kit considering the cost is getting close to Turbo Tom's kit and we know that jackshaft has caused many headaches. The aftercooler seems interesting. I am guessing the price to be $4,000 to $4,500. A guy from Focal Jet drove 15 hours down to Florida to have the first one installed. He is there right now and posting pics. You can check the progress here I know its not for a Contour but it seemed interesting.

Looks like Vortec added some anti-wobble parts to the shaft. I wonder who came up with that idea? Even though Jackson Racing keeps the tune pretty mild, I think their unit has more potential (more torque? More reliability). Mild tune...nothing a well-funded modder can't handle.

Yeah I saw a SVT Focus with one. There speed shop is here in orlando. Although they didnt make a big deal about it. There were showing me the SVT focus with a turbo and stand alone fuel managment. They are expecting 340 at the wheels soon with it they said!

I don't see where the Jackson Racing has more potential as it only goes to 5-6 psi. I do like the fact that it comes with a new intake manifold. The vortech apparently keeps the plastic one.
The Jackson Racing has no option for intercooler/aftercooler.
That is the main thing I am liking about the Vortech but I imagine that shaft deal will continue to be problematic.
Still waiting to see what happens with that car.

supercharging is more reliable but turbos are easier to fix. superchargers need lots of rebuilding but turbos you just have to change out the part(s) that are broken.

intercooler/aftercooler option is something i overlooked motorcity, good call, i stand corrected then........i guess it depends on how important smog legality is to you....

The price of the kit on SuperChargers online is about $3550 w/ aftercooler.
The guy has not posted but someone mentioned they thought they got about 240 WHP and 190 Torque out of it by the end. I will post an update once the guy posts.
