With a 550.00 budget, you will have a huge choice of very high quality HUs. I would shop around on eBay for the Sony CDX-C90. IMO, it is the best sounding HU available. They cost more than your budget allows but if you are patient you may find one.
A much cheaper and very good sounding HU is the Nakamichi CD-45Z.
