Baseball is in a sad state and will continue to be untill they put a salary cap in effect.

This will prolly be one of the LEAST watched World Series ever! I would rather watch "DA Bears"!!

Indeed. A great series. My nerves are shot though. Congrats to the Yankees, they were the better team on the night.

And with that ..... Go Fish !

No, they weren't the better team. The Sox played the better game. It came down to a MISERABLE managment decision. Expect to see Grady Little standing somewhere near the unemployment office by Halloween.

Blah, blah. Yankees win. Big whoop. Thank god I can stop caring about baseball... bring on the NHL.

To me, the manager and coaches are part of the team. Either way, it doesn't do Grady's chances any good of keeping his job.

I wonder who they could get though ? If the Fish win the WS, could Joe Torre be available too ?

Hey Brian Cashman ... straight swap ... Pedro for Joe Torre, how about it ?

Pedro and Grady were both at fault.

Grady has been a great leader for this team all season. It would be a damn shame to see him get booted for one mistake (regardless of how big it was). Give him one more chance!

I know the job Grady did... I don't WANT to see him go. Of course, if it was the old upper mgm't, he'd already be fired. Maybe the new regime will keep him on.

Hell, I'd rather toss Nomar Garciapop-up. He hasn't produced squat all season.

I don't think I blame Pedro, though. If you're in the 8th inning if a major game, do you REALLY want to give up? I mean, it's 6 outs away from the Series, possibly one of the most pivotal games of your career. Grady should have just pulled him and put Timlin in, closed it out, and played another week.

Agreed. It's a shame that with all of that pre-swing rigamarole that he goes through, he can't buy a hit.
Tell ya what. We'll take Garciaparra on the Yanks, and you guys can have the Mets--even swap.

it's not a matter of giving up. it's a matter of getting shelled and doing the smart thing to get a fresh arm in there. after 117 pitches, Pedro loses his effectiveness.

Timlin should have started the 8th and finished the game. he would have been able to do it. either him or Williamson.

i have no answer for what happened to Nomar aside from nerves. i think the pressure got to him and all the rest of our big bats.

the one who really needs to go is Manny. BUH BYE! he's fat, he doesn't run, and he has a very bad ego. i can't stand him. i wish we had traded him earlier in the season with all of his show-boating and bullsh!t.

See... I'd understand nerves if Tek, Nixon, Walker, Ortiz all hadn't combined for anything.
