Make sure you replace the springs as well. The problem youa re experiencing is due to the brushes being worn down and the springs are sprung out... At high rpms, the springs no longer provide enough tension to keep the brushes from floating freely. When the brushes start floating, you get your ALT light.
The same thing happened to my Alternator at 90,000 miles and I replaced the whole thing. At that mileage, the bearings in the alternator need to be replaced as well as the regulator, brushes, and springs. Make sure you do a thorough job. You don't want to have to take it back out !!!
