The officer will probably receive a written reprimand. This was a dumb mistake,you are right. He did in fact call his supervisor and tell him of his error,this took balls. I know an officer that had a city owned Glock 27(baby glock)stolen from their vehicle while on vacation, and they received a written reprimand.Let's hope some good samaritan finds and returns the gun,and no one is harmed from this mistake.
