This is what I wanted clarification on. Thank you. Appears alot of enthusiats are overly concerned with the temp guage reading. I went to the local Napa dealer yesterday, and put an ohm meter on 12 temp sending units in stock; all varied in readings on the ohm meter, anywhere from a low of 425 ohms to a high of 692 ohms. All sitting on the counter for the same length of time, none out of the box until I put the ohm meter to them. I've had similiar findings with the Taurus and the 3.0 engine temp sending unit. This fueled my desire to stress the OEM temp sending unit (under new pn not long ago, now made in Belgium instead of Mexico. Of course cost has gone up appreciably. The t'stat shouldn't be as big a concern, for me, as I have over 30 years of using Stant products. Bill
