I have a 96 gl 2.5 with a bad coolant leak. I finally tracked it to the water pump (underside) and it leaks like crazzy when running. The heater blows hot and running the car on defrost started to lower the temp it runs about the M sometimes higher. I did a search about pumps but did not find what I was looking for since my car still blows hot air. What exactly should I replace? Front of pump and housing and T stat, or just the fromt of the pump? I blew a upper heater hose last year and that was kind of a pain to replace, so I would like to do as much as possible in one shot. Any help is appreciated as I need to fix it tomorrow. I am afraid the car will overheat if I wait much longer.
