Even with the thread talking about coolant draining...
why not just put your old oil in the containers you just poured your new oil out of, and take those to the recycle depot. They certainly will not leak, they're made for oil.

On all my pasts oil changes, I've had left over oil in my 5qt jugs. Zetecs use 4.5qts. and with the big mobil1 jugs, I don't wanna really waste that oil.

At some point in time your going to use the remaining oil in the container, so keep that container and use it to discard your old oil.
