No, the water coolant hose shouldn't be touching the exhaust sheild. The do not get to be the same temp.
You replaced the broken hose with an OEM replacement? If so, did you install it correctly (backwards, turned a little to much) ??
The heat from the exhaust shield will damage the hose if it's in hard contact. Get it fixed ASAP
