Does the entire 3.0L Taurus engine and ATX fit into Contours?

first off, its a totally different trans.
second, there are differences between the 2.5 and the 3L
alternator, timing over and pulleys, fuel rail just to name a few.
you can swap a straight 3L in with those minor mods, but not the tranny.
i seen a taurus tranny today when i was picking my cd4e up, it was considerbly bigger too

So the only upgrade for the Contour ATX is a complete performance rebuild? If thats the case I guess it's not even worth it to build-up a Contour.

I hear ya. If I didn't hate stick shift so much I would actually be able to have a powerful Contour. Oh well.
