no it doesnt make it better, the average pre 98 tour ranges in value from 2500-4,000 (highest i have seen) for a 98...not good of a resale value. i would have said [censored] it and torched the damn thing at 5k

You must shop at CarMax, or other used car lots.
'Tours of all years at CarMax sell from a minimum of about $5000 to about $12,000; don't think I've ever seen one below $4000 let alone max. Being CarMax they're all in Good-Pristine condition.

I bought mine for $3000 out the door and they pretty much all seem to sell around that price.

no its not...i love it. i just did that for fun, mud washes off man. the only thing that has gone wrong with that car in 104,006 miles (as of today at lunch) has been the clutch...other than that...no big issues. im running over 100K on the ORIGINAL muffler and cat oh and dont forget water pump, fule pump, and all that good stuff...i take VERY good Care of my car so that i can have some fun in it once in a while. when i was done i went straight to my dads shop, took a pressure washer to the car and the mud came right off, then i drove the car up onto one of our lifts, took off all 4 wheels with an impact wrench and cranked the pressure washer to 3500PSI and took all that mud off the bottom. then i lowered it back down and did the engine bay with 1500psi.
