My guess would be battery, or maybe even both. Take the battery to autozone or advanced auto, they'll test it out for you. The battery supplies the power to the car, and the alternator sends power to the battery, in essence charging it. So i'd say that the battery isn't holding a charge. In my personal experiences, the alternator either works or it doesn't. (Please, if I am wrong on this last part, someone correct me)
