Woody, I know I speak for a lot of bay-area folk so anyone else whose against me is free to chime in.
We did this Drive in (Toadster refresh my memory) March 2002? Toadster who lived in Folsom invited us up. We caravaned up while a guy in Mineral, CA (in the mountains 80 miles east of Chico) drove down. Half the Sac 'Tours did not show which left us with a larger bay area crowd with Toadster & Flummox representing Sac. Drive was fun, we made it to Coloma and I bet Toadster has some pics from doing 90+ on the back roads in the driving rain. Hung out in Coloma and Folsom Dam and had BBQ someplace?
Us Bay Area folk were awfully upset at the poor turnout of the Sac Tour's as we drove 2hrs to the meet to basically hang-out with ourselves. Although Mineral-Tour-Man Jay and I have talked ever since so I'm super glad I got to meet him even though he drives a 2004 WRX now.
We have a few good back roads in the bay area (Hwy 9 ) so the enticement of Sac to meet up with 1-2 cars isn't there for me.
Our meet in Fairfield. yes only 40 miles from Sac went un-noticed from Sac members. I suggest you do a rallying cry for all your Sac tour owners and come up with a big group cus I'm not down to drive to hang with 1-2 owners, if not, plan on driving to the Bay Area to hang with us.
I do visit my Mom in Sac so I'll holler next time I roll up there and maybe we can get a mini-meet together and talk cars and eat a burger and drink a beer at some fine watering hole.
Check the sticky post up top of the forum for all your Sac area members
