Just to let everyone know, this is a common problem overall. That would be a lot of ATX's. Ford had a similar fix for the AX4N or something like that. They (the dealer) would go in the PCM, through a scan tool, and disable the solenoid that locked the TC.

To Ford, problem solved.

This is a classic case of what to look for if your TC is in a constant state of lock. If it were to stay this way, the engine would crank and then quickly die.
