We have about 90 million Curves in our area now, it's really ridiculous. Quite a racket, they even sucked my g/f in for $30/month for a full year. It's all resistance equipment, that doesn't seem to do much.
Quizno's is a bit different in that you can only own 2 Quizno's, period. We've only got 3 in the local area, and those owners aren't expanding. I met with their franchise salespeople earlier this week, and got the skinny on everything. They gave me a map showing the available areas in the state, and it's still fairly open. They're running my application now, while I do my due dilligence and go through their prospectus and all.
I was initially looking to buy an already-running store/franchise, but haven't found what I was looking for. In the meantime, this opportunity popped up, and I'm just checking it out.
