Wow, wasn't expecting that many responses so quickly..
Togo's tried it's hand out here, and miserably failed. Panera Bread isn't doing much better, and will probably close shop within the year. The Chick-Fil-A's are doing business like you wouldn't believe, but I'm about a year too late for that.
I guess we don't have the same tastes as the west coast folks.. I never really considered the fact that we have ALOT of sub shops around here, either.. I guess that could conceivably pose a problem.
JerseyCat: I've been contemplating locations in the Mount Laurel/Moorestown/Maple Shade area. All 3 places have their good and bad points. They're all fairly far from the Marlton location, so I think we'd bring in some good business, especially considering alll the businesses around there.
For those interested, to get one up and running in this area, you're looking at about $200K plus some working capital to keep things running for a few months until you become profitable. Quizno's claims they'll help find you the prime real estate locations, help finding competitent help, and work with you on the financing aspects as well.
Supposedly, the average yearly profits are in the neighborhood of $450K. Not sure if I believe that or not, but it does make for a compelling arguement.
