How about a Check cashing/Western Union/pay advance business? I hear advertisements on the radio and see them all over the place! They seem pretty popular, and I'm sure startup fees are small(licenses, etc.). You could probably put one on each side of town for the same amount you would spend on one Quiznos.

Oh I also wanted to say that $450K a year in PROFIT doesn't sound very realistic. I don't know if you have, but if not, the first thing you need to do is talk to people who already own and operate their own quiznos and see what they are doing. How they enjoy working with quiznos corporate as well. Their general ideas and attitudes towards their whole owning experience.
How much in sales are they basing $450K in profit off of? How many stores? Because with one store That would have to be a very high volume store. I know some struggling pizza places and other food service places barely do more than $450K in SALES a year. But I'm sure corporate won't necessarily try to steer you wrong in anyway because the more money you make the more they make.

Starbucks doesn't franchise. All Starbucks locations are corporately owned.

Sujeet,
Panera has 50 locations opening up around this area in the next 5 years. They are doing really well in PA. I went to Quiznos for the first time in MD this weekend. The sandwiches were different, not too bad though. Have you looked into opening one in the Philly area? Drexel/Penn campus would make a mint. The POS subway on campus makes crazy money and their food/service is subpar.
