I agree, Quizno's has disgusting sandwiches, overpriced, and they are too weird for my taste. I dont think they would do very good back east, where we have good deli's everywhere (where I'm from at least, theres a good Italian deli everywhere you look) Like it was said, I would look around the prospective site and make sure theres not a family owned type deli, cause you'll have a hard time getting people away from there.

Well out here in L.A. Quizno's are more popular than Subways. I prefer Quizno's myself. There are over 200 quizno's in the L.A. area with more opening all the time. In a good location I imagine it would be a good investment.

[homer simpson] mmmmmm Quizno's [/homer simpson]

I think they're a little bit pricy, but, I have yet to have a sub there that I wouldn't have again.

The one nearest me is still a 20 minute or so drive, and I still swing by it on occasion, just for their food. If I happen to be in the area, I'll think to eat there first... even though Chick-Fil-A is 2 stands down in the food court!!

I'd look at an Einstein Bros. or Panera Bread franchise instead. Or, if you're really serious about buying a franchise, check out Great Harvest Bread Company . We have one of these near home and from the business they do, I bet they make money like they've got their own mint.

Hands down the best subs money can buy and the franchises are sprouting like mushrooms all over the place.

If you want to make money I recommend you take a look at them.

Quizno's is overpriced slop compared to JJ's

I live off of JJ's in A2 for 4 years!!! REmarkably I never put on the freshmen 15. . .

Cartman-
We have QUizno's over here in texas, they are okay, it depends on the workers, but all in all, it's your LOCATION. I've looked into the finances of it for my dad, since he's trying to setup up multiple businesses all over the country (and wanted to dabble in franchis bs), and I realized very clearly after talking to multiple QUizno's owners the following:

(1) You will have to have a location close to a financial, medial, or legal center.
(2) Own ONLY 1 QUizno's, the owner I know well here had 3-4, and shut them all down to own 1 in order to reap major profits, the extra 2-3 weren't netting more.
(3) Monitor the one store LIKE A HAWK. . .the first year is a [censored], but eventually you'll pull 6-figure+ if you can bite the bullet.
(4) Keep the one quizno's near a lunch time frenzy area, I've talked to two owners near the downtown area, one near RIce University, and one near the Med Center (that I go to), and found that the Med Center and Downtown one do REALLY well, the school one suffers because there isn't a lunch crowd that frequents there.

"You prefer that over a toasted Quizno's sub? Were you raised by wolves?"

That commercial is kinda good...Quizno's is not.

I remember for a couple years, seeing commercials for Quizno's and asking "where the hell is this place?!"
I think the first time I saw one was in MI and the last one I've ever seen was in MO.
I still have never tried it.

It can come up in this area all it wants, nothing will steal my business away from D'angelos. orgasm in sammich form

Damn straight!! I will be opening my own Jimmy John's this spring. I have the contracts signed and an agreement worked out on a building (haven't closed yet). I got hooked on Jimmy John's at MSU and knew I had to open one around my house. My friends mom was looking for a franchise to invest money in anyways so it all worked out perfect. I honestly don't know how much about Quizznos franchising, the startup costs look about the same, but it seems like operating costs would be higher. In any case Jimmy John's rocks and when I open I am planning on having a local SEMI CEG meet there.

mmm, an "Italian Night Club" from JJ's sounds so good right now.

I've never had Quizno's, mostly because I don't even know if there is one in Central or Eastern Iowa, but I have had JJ's many a time and it's hard to beat for the price.
