Hi everyone, I need some help. About 3 days ago my tire got pretty low so I filled it up with one of those tire sealers in a can deal. Came out yesterday morning to find my tire completely flat and a wet spot on the ground around the tire (I guess it was the stuff from the fix-a-flat). I went ahead and put on the spare tire started driving then less than a minute later the ABS light came on. Since yesterday morning it has been coming off and on. I will start the car and sometimes it turns off only to turn on a few minutes later, and other times it just stays on for ever. A couple times it doesn't come on for a while and then, Bam! there it is. Any one have any ideas what it could be and how i can check it?

P.S. Car is a 98 SVT with 72K miles.

There is a good chance that the ABS light is coming on due to the difference in tire sizes.

When your tires do not match, your ABS sensors do not know how to react because some tires are rotating at a different speed than others.

The ECU can't figure it out and shuts down your ABS. Once you get your tires all matched up, I'm sure you won't have a problem.

Sorry, I guess I neglected to mention that I fixed the tire yesterday morning as well. So the ABS light is continuing to come on with the regular tire on. Any other idea?

Have you checked the wiring harness and the sensor on that wheel for possible damage? ie ran over something that also caused the flat??? Can you scan for the code?

Go to an Autozone and they can pull it. Lot of the CEG'ers use software in our laptops along with an interface. Check-out www.obd-2.com it's more than just a scan-tool.
