I can't seem to find a definite answer online anywhere(all I see is Mustang Mach 460 related stuff) or at my new hangout(Escape-Central)about the Mach Audio system in my Escape. Maybe someone here could advise? Here is what I have:
(2001)Mach Audio CD/Cassette combo with 7 speakers:
4 6x8s in front/rear doors
2 tweeters in sail panels
1 6.5" amplified "subwoofer"
Right now I would like to replace the stock subwoofer amp with one of my RF 120a2 amps(bridged) and replace the "subwoofer" with a RF RFP4406 6.5" sub(it is considered a sub because it only goes up to 100-150hz IIRC). I want to keep the factory HU(for now

), so I will need a 2 channel adjustable line output converter(the factory sub is a DVC). But what I am wondering about...do I have to tap into the wiring BEFORE the factory amp, or AFTER the amp? I have heard that some factory headunits send out a low signal that is amplified when it gets to the amp. I am hoping someone with experience and resources will chime in(possibly Steeda?). TIA.
